Why choose 4Change Energy as your electric company?
We built 4Change Energy on decades of industry experience, innovation, and inspiration. With our headquarters in Texas, we're regulated and certified by the Public Utility Commission (PUC). On January 5th, 2024, you can pick 4Change as your electric company and join our other satisfied customers. Enroll with us online or call us to start service at your home. There's no change to the company delivering your power and responding to outages in Lubbock. The only difference will be your electricity provider. You can take comfort in knowing that 4Change Energy is backed by a multi-billion-dollar energy company.
Low Rates, Big Savings
We shave every cost possible so we can give you low prices and the service you need.
4% of our annual profits support Texas charities. 4Change has donated over $750,000 to our charitable partners.
If you're not happy with your plan within 30 days of your initial enrollment, we’ll let you out of your contract, penalty-free.1
Smart with Heart
4Change Energy is a Texas-based residential electric company founded on the idea that electricity should be affordable and contribute to where you live. Make a difference in your community by signing up for a low electricity rate and we'll make a charitable contribution on your behalf. It's that simple.
Customer Satisfaction is our passion.
As one of the top electric companies in Texas, we continue to maintain high value for our customers. We work hard to be competitive and provide low electricity rates so you don’t have to worry about keeping the lights on.
- “Was referred to 4Change by a co-worker. Great choice I made by switching. My bills are less expensive than my previous energy carriers. You too, owe it to yourself to save $$$ and never a problem with their service." – Robert
- “Lots to say: easy to switch, great rates and plans, customer service is also on point. If you have a high bill (like we all do) or are unhappy with your current provider I would recommend at least looking these guys up." – Larry
- “I really appreciate the weekly usage reports. They have made it easy to focus on our habits and be more aware of waste. I have reduced my monthly bill significantly by just being more careful.” – Ellen
Lubbock Power & Light (LP&L) will still deliver your power, maintain your poles and wires, and restore power if there’s an outage. To report an outage in your area you can call (806) 775-2509 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Your retail provider cannot assist with outages related to the poles and wires.
LP&L won't provide electricity service to Lubbock after retail electric competition launches on January 5th, 2024, but they will continue to maintain your poles and wires as your Transmission and Distribution Utility (TDU).
If you do not select a new provider by Thursday, February 15th at 5:00 pm you will be automatically enrolled with a default provider which may not be the right provider and/or plan for you. If you do get transitioned to a default provider you can still select a new retail electric provider with no penalty. For the smoothest transition, we suggest that you find a provider you feel confident in before February 15th.
You can enroll with a new electricity provider from January 5th - March 3rd, 2024. Your service will automatically transition to your new provider on your first meter read date after March 3rd, 2024.
For most people it is best to lock in a fixed rate for 12 or 24 months. 4Change Energy offers several options to meet our customer’s needs. For instance, if you use around 1,200 kWh/month the majority of months in a year, you might want to consider a plan with a bill credit when you use at least 1,000 kWh. Visit our Plans and Pricing page to compare our low electricity rates and plan lengths then choose a plan that is best for you. If you need assistance with selecting a plan we are here to help you at (855) 784-2426.
1 Applies to new customers only and their first plan with us. Must contact us by phone within 30 days of initial enrollment.
