Value Based Brands LLC, doing business as 4Change Energy, has reached an agreement with Windrose Energy to continue providing electric service to their residential customers. 4Change Energy is a subsidiary of a large and growing Fortune 500 company with decades of experience in the Texas retail electric market.
Is Windrose Energy still my electricity provider?
No - your continuing residential electricity service will be provided by Value Based Brands LLC doing business as 4Change Energy (“4Change Energy”). You will continue to enjoy great service like you had with Windrose Energy when you initially enrolled. 4Change Energy is committed to providing low rates, uncomplicated service, as well as giving 4% of annual profits to four trusted charitable partners (American Red Cross, American Cancer Society, Feeding Texas, and Heroes for Children). Plus, you can make any one of our plans 100% green!

Do I need to do anything to make sure my account is transitioned?
Nope! You do not need to take any action to assure your account is transitioned successfully.
Will there be any disruption in my electricity service?
No. There will be no disruption in your electricity due to this transition.
When is my service being transferred?
Your service will officially be transferred to your 4Change Energy account on or around 03/22/2022. Once your service has been transitioned you will receive a Welcome Package via email and US Mail.
Will my rate change?
Some Windrose customers might notice a higher energy charge, but it will be a very competitive rate in today’s market pricing. Shortly after the transition 4Change Energy will be reaching out with special fixed-term renewal offers!
Will my current contract with Windrose Energy be honored?
4Change Energy will initially transition Windrose Energy customers to a flexible, month-to-month plan. Shortly after the transition 4Change will be reaching out with special fixed-term renewal offers!
How will I know when my service has been transferred to 4Change?
You will receive a Welcome Package from us via email and US Mail notifying you that your service has officially been transferred. This Welcome Package will again include all your plan details : EFL, TOSA, and YRAC.
How do I set up a 4Change Energy online ‘MyAccount’?
It is very easy, but you will need to wait until your service has been successfully transferred to 4Change Energy. NOTE: You will receive several emails of this notification as well as a “Welcome Package” via US Mail when the transition is complete.
Register your account (use the same email you had on file with Windrose) at: https://www.4ChangeEnergy.com/account-register
Once registered, you’ll be able to use your 4Change Energy MyAccount so you can take care of basic account actions, such as:
- View your bill
- Enroll in Auto Pay (avoid worrying about due dates or possible late fees)
- Pay your bill online (If you aren’t on Auto Pay)
- View your usage
- View payment and billing history
- Transfer your service
- Add an additional home
- Renew or change plans
- Upgrade to 100% renewable energy (if applicable)
- Choose the 4Change Energy charitable organization that you would like us to support on your behalf (at no additional cost to you)
- Change your password
I was on AutoPay with my Windrose Energy account to automatically pay my bill every month. Will that transfer over to my new account?
Unfortunately, no. For the protection of your financial data, 4Change will not transfer your payment method information. You will need to log in to your new account and re-establish EZ Pay (AutoPay) with 4Change to avoid any gap in payment and/or late fees. 4Change accepts debit/credit cards from Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express as well as ACH bank payments.
After your service has been transferred and you register your account, in order to establish automatic payments, you will need to:
- Log in to your My Account : https://www.4changeenergy.com/account-login
- Navigate to ‘Payments & Billing’
- Click on ‘Manage Payment Methods’
- Add your payment method making sure to select ‘Set as EZ Pay Method’ before saving.

If I paid a deposit with my original Windrose Energy account, do I get that back?
If you had paid a deposit with Windrose Energy, that deposit amount will be transferred to your 4Change account.
I was receiving electronic documents and e-bills with Windrose Energy. Can I get on a similar program with my 4Change Energy account?
Yes, 4Change Energy offers a similar program called “eDocs” and will continue to communicate and bill you electronically pursuant to your previously provided consent with Windrose Energy. eDocs is great for the environment and convenient for you. If 4Change Energy received information from Windrose Energy that you were on their electronic billing, then you will automatically be enrolled on eDocs and only send communications electronically.
Will my account number change?
Yes, you will receive a new account number from 4Change Energy. This will be provided in your Welcome Package which you will be receiving via email and US Mail shortly after your service is transitioned.
Will my bill look different?
Yes. The pertinent information will be the same, but the layout and colors will be different.
When will I receive my last bill from Windrose Energy?
This is important - you are responsible to pay your last bill from Windrose Energy. This should be issued about a week after your service is transferred to 4Change Energy. Make this payment to Windrose just as you have in the past.

What do I do if I haven’t received my last bill from Windrose Energy?
You can access your Windrose Energy online account or call Windrose at (800) 483-1836 Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. for questions about your previous Windrose electricity bills.
When will I get my first bill for my new 4Change Energy account?
Generally, you should receive your first 4Change Energy bill within 15-30 days after your service is transitioned; however, it is possible to receive a 1st bill quicker than that.
As such, it is important to note that your first bill from 4Change will likely be a partial billing cycle depending on your standard TDU meter read date.
Will I have the same contract end date? No. You will initially be on a flexible, but competitive month-to-month plan. Shortly thereafter 4Change will send you a special term renewal offer. Be on the lookout, we make renewing as easy as a click in an email.
Does my new 4Change Energy account offer Budget Billing?
Yes, 4Change Energy’s Budget Billing program smooths out seasonal spikes to help make your monthly bills more predictable. If you were on Budget Billing with your Windrose Energy account, you will need to call 4Change to enroll in the same program.
